Mgm Goes 2 Class

What is it?

The MGM Goes 2 Class Program is our way of helping educators expand minds and dialogue among staff and students regarding issues related to cultural diversity, pluralism and acceptance. If your institution or organization is looking for a reference or curriculum resource to help counter stereotypes and build bridges of understanding across cultural divides, this program will do exactly that!

How does it work?

We offer 3 possible program implementations:

  1. Include us as a Real Life Reference Resource in your School or University Library. Every subscription to a school or university library – that is identified as such – will be added to the recipient list for our MGM Real Life Library Resource eNewsletter. Four weeks prior to the OnShelf date of each new issue of MGM, we email this newsletter to our contact person for that subscription. In addition to keeping you in the loop about news related to MGM, this newsletter details suggested discussion group topics, community outreach events and the availability of MGM staff or young Muslim women profiled in that issue who are available for speaking engagements hosted at your local facility.
  2. Add us as supplemental reading to a current course or develop a new course around us. English as a Second Language, Writing, Journalism, Magazine Design, Media Studies, Women in Media, Social Issues, Gender Studies, Comparative Religions, Comparative Culture, Politics, World Issues - these are all subject areas in which teachers are currently or planning to use MGM as supplemental or core material. If you have an idea and need help developing it we can help you do that as well.
  3. Use us as a core curriculum material in Professional or Teacher Training Workshops dealing with issues of cultural sensitivity. Customizable professional development workshops are available in One-Hour, Half-day or Full-Day formats and have been developed using our award-winning curriculum development methodology.
